Marker Tag Trailer

Well, the audio problem was not fixable, so the editing didn't come out exactly as planned, but it still looks fine. So finally, before anyone has seen it on Facebook or Youtube, here is the trailer for the Marker Tag movie project that was abandoned but still has a glimmer of hope of still happening someday:

New Video Project! "Hunt"

I'm officially announcing the launch of a new video project by Watermelon Film Productions! The movie currently titled "Hunt" will be a collaborative effort among various groups to produce a movie about a scavenger hunt (if you have a better name suggestion please let me know). This won't have a complicated plot or anything, but we will come up with an agreed upon list of items to find in a photo scavenger hunt, and then each group of freinds from your hometown or whatever will conduct the scavenger hunt on their own time, photographing and video taping their efforts. I'll stitch together all the footage and hopefully we can come up with a way to have an ending where it all comes together in the end. Maybe like some of the items are only found at UCLA. So, post some items you think would be good scavenger hunt items in the comments below and we can start deciding on a list, but try to keep them to things that can be found mostly everywhere (not just in California, since I'll be in Hawaii). I'll get the ball rolling: 7 different escalators, tourists, one or more of your group members on a boat, a true guitar hero, boots with the fur, a visor that's dividing, guy in a suit holding a breifcase, bongos. Obviously it's okay if some of the items are open to interpretation, that's more fun anyway. Well go on! Post!

Update on marker tag trailer

Just to keep you readers posted, there are some technical problems recently discovered with the marker tag trailer which is currently in post-production. Apparently there is a bug in iMovie '09 that still needs to be fixed where custom adjustments of the speed of clips causes the audio to be thrown off. For the lucky few who have seen what I have so far for the trailer you may have noticed I had to pause and play the trailer halfway through its showing. It won't export with the proper audio sync. Therefore, I won't be able to finish it or post it online until this bug is fixed or I'm able to find a suitable workaround that won't diminish the quality of the trailer. In the meantime, here's a raw unedited clip from the shooting (exciting I know), and read the post about the newest Watermelon project below!

Spy shots from the trailer for "Marker Tag"!

Good news everyone! As a preview for the forthcoming trailer for my exciting new project, "Marker Tag," I've unveiled here some spy shots from the shooting! I've heard word from the producer and director himself that one of these shots is from a scene that will be used in the trailer and actual movie, and the other is of an outtake scene where some extra was standing in the foreground. Stupid extras.

Grand Opening!

Welcome! This is the very first post for the Watermelon Film Productions blog! I will use this blog to keep fans and friends updated on my projects, and also as a vehicle for suggestions and help that I desperately need from those same friends and fans. I will be posting both links to completed projects, and updates on projects in the works so that you readers can leave comments and collaborate to help me move my projects forward.
For my first posting I figure I'd embed some of my previous projects, some of which were from high school, and some that were more recent so you can get an idea of what I've done so far, and once it's finished I will post my "concept trailer" for my next project:

Here's one of my earliest films I made with a high school buddy, taking advantage of some simple editing tricks:

Attempts at using stop motion, I think we did a pretty good job:

Trying to add a little more method (and plot) to our madness, this had to do with our school's annual carnival:

This was just an impromptu filming opportunity that I used to make in the style of 19th century films and music:

This was my experiment in first person camera work, inspired by the video titled "What's in the box?" search for it on you tube after watching this if you want:

The following was my most ambitious project yet as far as ideas and plot. It was made as a parody of those campy 80s safety videos from Chemistry lab classes (the guy from one of them makes a cameo sort of). This involved a full fledged trailer, blooper reel, and posters to announce the "premier," although like all my projects, this was still all shot over the course of only a few hours:
